If you’re about to (or just thinking of) relocating to (or near) Raleigh, North Carolina, we’d love to help you learn a little bit about why Wendell is such a special place to call home — starting with the fact that it feels like a small town, but is still very connected to the greater Raleigh area. And of course, once you fall in love with Wendell, you’re going to need a place to live. Which is why we’re going to tell you all about Ponder, too.
We say ‘location’ twice, because we’re situated between two towns: Wendell and Zebulon. Each offering loads of charm, lots of history, and no shortage of things to do, from outdoor activities to community gatherings and parades, to craft breweries and boutiques. And then there’s nearby Raleigh — full of culture and exciting sports and world-class restaurants and more (like major tech companies and top-rated universities).
Take me thereThe Research Triangle of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill is known for its culture, great college sports (thanks to NC State, Duke and UNC), foodie-worthy restaurants and a thriving arts, music and theater scene. And if you work in the city, the commute is an easy one, with our location just 5 minutes off of Highway 87.
Ponder takes full advantage of our natural surroundings, with parks, trails and greenways encouraging outdoor adventure. Plus there are ways to enjoy water, right in the community —a pond for fishing, and a signature lake that provides the perfect paddleboard spot. (And don’t get us started on the day trips to mountains or beaches).
There’s just something about a small town. With Wendell’s and Zebulon’s quaint downtowns about 10 minutes in either direction, you can easily find yourself celebrating a variety of occasions — from harvest festivals to holiday parades. And then there are the boutiques and restaurants, where you can pick up local goods — or even bagpipes.
The Research Triangle attracts big business and big education — with economic growth and employment opportunities in (particularly) software, biotech and IT services. There’s also a strong startup scene, and top-notch universities (Duke, NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill residing at the top of many lists).
