Your First Look at Ponder House

Brookfield Residential has been creating incredible places to live for more than five decades, including the award-winning Wendell Falls community. And just a few miles down the road in Wendell, NC, our next new home community is shaping up to be something really special: Ponder.

In this blog, we’re excited to share with you a first look at the amenity center (aka your soon-to-be favorite hangout spot) at Ponder.

Ponder House will be one of the first amenities new residents will get to enjoy at Ponder, from the moment they move in. Situated just off the lake and surrounded by idyllic views, this stunning 5,300-square-foot clubhouse will be the signature gathering spot for the community. Designed to set the tone for a fresh take on lake-inspired living, this amenity will bring families and neighbors together. The architecture and design give nods to the beauty found in nature, and modern touches bring out timeless beauty and charm.

 Inside, you’ll find plenty of places to gather with friends or enjoy some alone time when you need to recharge. Snag a spot to work remotely for a change of scenery from your home office or grab a cozy beverage from the coffee bar before settling into a comfy couch with your favorite book. Break a sweat with scenic sights in the fitness studio, which will be open 24/7 for residents. Need a private space for a birthday party or shower? A gathering room will offer dedicated space with tons of features to make hosting a breeze, like a kitchenette, catering island and gorgeous lake views.

And boy oh boy, we can’t wait for you to take in the views at Ponder House. Floor-to-ceiling windows give an unobstructed view of Lake Ponder, with doors leading to the iconic wrap-around porch. Measuring at 1,900 square feet, this covered veranda is totally decked out (pun intended). Here, you’ll find even more lounging areas and a dual-sided fireplace for cozy vibes.

Plans for Ponder House are brimming with ways to play and explore the great outdoors. Multiple trail paths will be accessible just off the covered porch, ready for a sweat or stroll. Nearby, residents will also enjoy a gathering lawn, versatile for sun salutations or a game of tag (and everything in between).

If you can’t already tell, Ponder House is going to be unlike any amenity center you’ve seen before. And with the main building scheduled for completion in 2026, residents of Ponder will get access on move-in day. If that’s not enough, more incredible amenities are being planned for the future, like a kayak launch, pickleball courts, saltwater pool and concert stage.
