Turtle Touchdown

Your new favorite place to play has officially arrived. One of Ponder’s signature amenities, Turtle Park, has just finished installation and will be ready to play on from day one. This distinct turtle-shaped structure, known as Zen, is one of the first things you see as you enter Ponder. However, Zen had his fair share of travel before he landed at Ponder.

Zen started out in the hands of Monstrum, a Denmark-based designer. Monsturm specializes in creating bespoke, artistic playgrounds with intention. Their focus on artistic quality and desire to create gathering spaces made them the perfect fit to create the joyful and vibrant play structure we had imagined.

We got our original sneak peaks of Zen while he was still under construction overseas and immediately fell in love.

After construction was complete, Zen was tucked safely into a shipping container, and he began his long journey to his home. A few weeks later, he arrived safely. Our onsite construction crew got the first in-person view of the grand play structure we had been dreaming of, and it was everything we had hoped for and more.

Before we knew it, foundation had been laid, and Zen started going vertical. Over the course of a few days, Monstrum’s talented designers and builders teamed up with our onsite team to settle Zen into his forever home and give the slide a few test rides, just to be sure.  After traveling all the way from Denmark, this larger-than-life turtle is finally settling into his new home here at Ponder. Kids of all ages will love playing here. With slides, peek holes, a climbing net, obstacle robes and more, there is always fun to be had.

As you drive into Ponder, you will see Zen perched in the middle of Turtle Park and feel right at home. Zen’s is a perfect reminder to take it slow, enjoy some time outside and find an infinite number of ways to play while you’re at Ponder.
